Pico Scale Turgo Turbine Design for Remote Areas Application Using Velocity Triangle Approach

The global warming issue drives pico-scale hydropower plants to become the leading research focus. Pico-scale Turgo turbine (PSTT) is a suitable proposal be developed as power plant because it cheap, easy manufacture, and simple in shape design. Although PSTT has been for long time, final decision on optimum parameters of jet angle blade does not exist, precision manufacturing technology received special attention. Hence, this study aims evaluate geometry spoon using velocity triangle analysis. design blades manufactured three-dimensional (3D) printing machine performance tests. Based comparing experimental results analytical data, approach recommended designing average deviation 6.6%. considered reasonable. Then, based calculations, peak predicted occur at 20° angle. This hypothesis similar previous studies; indicates that mathematical analysis verified used.
